Concert for life raises over £3250 for Corby Charity "Integrated Cancer Therapies"

Over£3,250 was raised on Saturday 12th November at the Concert for Life a concert in St James Church, Gretton, Northamptonshire in support of local Charity Integrated Cancer Therapies.  
 
All the performers donated their time and the money raised will directly pay for therapies at the Integrated Cancer Therapies drop-in centre in Corby High Street as well as patients’ homes and in hospital/hospice settings. The concert was opened acts exclusively from Gretton, and included

·Stubbully
·Blaize& Victoria
·Eirfon Jones
·Elle Roberts and
·Unplugged & Thirsty
The Concert was hosted by Gretton’s very own impresario Martin McEvoy.

The highlight of the evening was the Gretton debut for The Rutland Big Band who combined with old swing favourites and jazz numbers which include popular tunes from the 40s swing era such as "Moonlight Serenade" and "American Patrol" through "Rock Around The Clock" to things like "Copacabana", "Sir Duke", and "Moondance".

The interval featured an  Auction and Raffle which raised over £900 .

Karen Dilley Operations Manager from Integrated Cancer Therapies said “I would like to thanks all the performers and organisers whose enthusiasm for the Concert for Life was amazing”. 
 
“Everyone was fantastic” added Debbie Bromley Clinical Manager ”the money raised will ensure that we can continue to deliver our service over the next several months. It is very humbling to see so many people who
  feel the work we do is close to their heart.”

Karen added “We have had many calls from Gretton about the therapies we offer so thought we’d come back to give the village a free taster.”  As a result there will be an Open Day on Saturday 26th November from 10am to 2pm at Gretton village Hall. 
 
Karen continued “We have been astounded by the village’s generosity and would like to thank the Gretton WI for their donation for the use of the hall on Saturday 26th November.” 
   
Integrated Cancer Therapies provide support and complementary therapies for people of Northamptonshire who are living with cancer and for their carers.

Concert for Life - Charity announce a free open day

There have been many enquiries about Integrated Cancer Therapies the Charity supported by The Concert for Life. As a result there will be an Open Day on Saturday 26th November from 10am to 2pm at Gretton village Hall. 
 
“The enthusiasm for the Concert for Life has been amazing” said Karen Dilley from Integrated Cancer Therapies. “We have had many calls from Gretton about the therapies we offer so thought we’d come back to give the village a free taster.” 
   
Karen continued “We have been astounded by the village’s generosity and would like to thank the Gretton WI for their donation for the use of the hall on Saturday 26th November.”  

Many of the top acts from The Gretton Music Festival 2011 will join The Rutland Big Band in a unique Concert for Life in support of local Charity “ICT - Integrated Cancer Therapies”. ICT provide support and complementary therapies for people of Northamptonshire who are living with cancer and for their carers.

Featuring the very top acts from Gretton, the evening will hosted by Gretton’s very own impresario Martin McEvoy.

The highlight of the evening will be the Gretton debut for The Rutland Big Band.

6:45pm
. The concert starts at 7:30pm. Tickets are just £10 and available only in advance from Gretton
Post Office.

Concert for Life - Charity Auction features Downton Abbey Cast!

The Concert for Life will incorporate a Charity Auction featuring unique items in  particular
 
A signed copy of “The World of Downton Abbey - The official companion to the series” . This extra special edition is signed by the cast, that’s right Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith, Jim Carter, the lot. A similar copy was recently sold at a Highclere Castle charity Auction for £1,500 so be prepared.
 
Other items include

* A copy of “Destiny”signed by the author & local MP Louise Bagshawe.
* GB Athletics Team Shirt signed by local athlete William Sharman.

All items will be sold on the evening with no reserves.

The seventh Gretton Music Festival 2016, sponsored by Seatons Solicitors, is Northamptonshire's largest community based music festival.  

Offering the widest possible range of local music, the festival takes place over August Bank Holiday spanning four days with concerts from Friday 26th August through to Monday 29th August.
