The Gretton Music Festival 2013 takes place over August Bank Holiday with concerts from Friday 23rd August through to Monday 26th August..

Featuring music for every taste from Sea Shanties to Traditional French Dance, Northamptonshire's largest community based festival is hosted at local village venues including The Blue Bell Inn, The Hatton Arms, The Talbot Inn, Gretton Sports and Social Club, The Village Hall and Lydia’s Cafe.

We welcome two featured acts – Saturday 24th August features the nationally acclaimed folk group, “Pennyless” appearing in association with Northants Touring Arts. Their didactic influences include Paganini, Captain Beefheart, Real Ale & David Bowie.

Sunday 25th sees the village “Rock & Roll with Laughter” with The Music and Laughter charity show featuring music from 60s and 70s with stand-up comedian Doug Parker. Doug was the TV warm up comedian to Parkinson, Call My Bluff, Going for a Song and Central Weekend. He is proof that you don't have to be blue to be funny.

We are also delighted with our new Festival sponsors, Seatons Solicitors (www.seatons.co.uk). With offices in Corby and Kettering they reinforce our local community based festival.

This year's festival sees the introduction of a new Music Trail, a unique opportunity to spend an afternoon roaming around the picturesque village of Gretton broadening your musical horizons. A series of special mini-events are hosted by local music enthusiasts, ranging from a Roots Reggae session to Verdi Opera and African Drumming.
