Last year saw many concerts sold out throughout the village and this year we plan to build on that. We are delighted to have a number of performers back by popular demand. In particular, Gretton's supergroup, Unplugged & Thirsty, plus Elle Roberts. Our schedule includes the ever popular opportunity to Sing Your Favourite Hymns and we expect another packed house at Hatton Arms Open Mic Session.
This year's new artists include Lazy Alligator Jazz Band, who caused a real storm at their recent Blue Bell performances, and Barb Jungr whose March show was a sell out at the Core in Corby. In past years summer holidays have been a real challenge for The Gretton Silver Band. I am delighted that this year they have made time join us, expect a great concert at The Talbot.
One of the highlights of last year was 2011 was baritone Mark Llewelyn Evans in the "Opera for All" gala concert. Expect his stunning return in "The Best of British" a celebration of the best of Musical Theatre from Andrew Lloyd Webber to Music Hall.
Further new acts are being finalised, so keep visiting the website at www.grettonmusicfestival.com for more information.
The Gretton Music Festival will feature performances at the three village pubs, The Talbot, The Blue Bell & The Hatton Arms and well as our 'fourth pub' the Sports and Social Club. Both our churches, St James and the Baptist Chapel are also hosting performances as are The Village Hall, The Village Green and Lydia's Coffee Shop.
The Gretton Music Festival 2012 takes place over August Bank Holiday spanning four days with concerts from Friday 24th August through to Monday 27th August.
