If you think that variety is the spice of life, and music is the food of love, head to Gretton this August for a veritable smorgasbord of musical delights!
The Gretton Music Festival 2015 is taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, from Friday 28th August to Monday 31st August. This village based event is now widely recognised as Northamptonshire's largest community-based music festival.
Now in its sixth year The Gretton Music Festival is again sponsored by Seaton's Solicitors, with local offices in Corby, Kettering & Northampton.
Paul Seaton said: "We are very happy to continue our association with the Gretton Music Festival, now in its sixth year.
"The festival has grown, but maintained its local roots - a bit like our business really. Last year's event was very well attended, and showcased a wide variety of musical genres, with literally something for everyone.
"We're all looking forward to this year's event and are very happy to help by sponsoring it."
The Gretton Music Festival will be held at a number of locations throughout the village including The Hatton Arms, The Sports Club, the Village Hall, Lydia's Coffee Shop and the Village Green.
This year's programme will be confirmed shortly, and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The highlight of the weekend sees the return of the sell-out “Rock & Roll with Laughter”, the Music and Laughter charity show. This is taking place on Sunday 30th August and is guaranteed to be a good night out.
What’s not to like? Steve Ashcroft and Martin Lewis provide the music ranging from The Beatles, The Searchers and The Drifters though to Rod Stewart, Carole King, Neil Diamond and John Denver.
With over 30 years of experience in the music industry, they’ve toured with the likes of Roy Wood (of Wizzard fame) and Hot Chocolate.
The laughter comes courtesy of Doug Parker. He’s a well-known Midlands stand-up comic, and proof that you don’t have to be ‘blue’ to be funny. He’s worked as a warm up man on many top-rated ITV and BBC shows including ‘Parkinson’ and ‘Central Weekend’.
Starting at 7.30pm, with a licensed bar until 11pm, tickets for this great night of entertainment cost just £10 each and are available from Gretton Post office.
All proceeds from this show will go to support The Travers Foundation a Northamptonshire-based charity that helps local 13 to 30 year-olds achieve their potential in sports, the creative arts and the performing arts.
